About us

CSAS supports groups working in various areas of crime reduction and community safety across London. Through our project strands we work with organisations that support a broad range of target groups including young people, black and minority ethnic communities (BAME), refugees, LGBT, victims of serious crime, women, older people, people of faith and people with disabilities.

CSAS was established in 2002 and since then has provided support to 3200+ community groups, voluntary organisations and individuals across London.

Our aims

  • To support the voluntary sector in participating in crime prevention and community safety
  • Raise awareness of the issues and challenges faced by our client groups
  • Help clients effectively engage with policy makers
  • Offer solutions and examples of best practice
  • Facilitate effective partnership working and the exchange of good practice
  • Challenge racism and other forms of discrimination wherever they arise

CSAS projects are funded predominantly by London Councils. We are managed by London Action Trust, a charity which works to break the cycle of offending and tackle social exclusion, so creating safer communities in Greater London.

Our Project Advisory Group is representative of the wider crime reduction / community safety voluntary sector and helps us to develop our work accordingly.
