Project Coordinator - The Peace Alliance

The Peace Alliance is a national crime reduction charity working in Partnership with local communities and statutory organisations to reduce crime and the fear of crime in the community.

The Peace Alliance has been funded by London Councils to provide diversionary activities for young people aged 11-24 years. This project aims to reduce youth offending and anti social behaviour through:

• The provision of engaging activities and programmes for young people at the risk of offending or anti social behaviour
• Raising awareness about the consequences of crime and informing young people about alternatives available to them and the benefits of making the right choices

MAIN DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

PROVISION OF DIVERSIONARY ACTIVITIES: 

•  To develop and facilitate creative, innovative and engaging diversionary activities for 11-24 year olds in the specified Boroughs
• To co-ordinate workshops and sessions that will empower young people and to deliver the workshops in conjunction with key service providers and appropriate speakers and guests

DEVELOPMENT OF CONFERENCE FOR AGENCIES WORKING WITH YOUNG PEOPLE: 

•  To work in partnership with a number of agencies working with young people on the delivery of a conference aimed at sharing and exploring practical approaches to tackling youth offending
