The fourth CSAS conference took place on 1st March 2007 and welcomed participation from one hundred delegates representing a variety of voluntary sector organisations and statutory bodies
The conference sought to give a voice to the small voluntary and community groups that are often overlooked in vital policy debates. In particular, it sought to examine some of the issues that impact on Community Cohesion at a local level and suggested ways that the voluntary and community sector could help to tackle them.
Throughout the day, participants heard from a number of distinguished speakers and participated in one of four different workshops. In the afternoon they had the opportunity to put forward questions in a panel debate and contribute to a CSAS submission to the government's Commission on Integration and Cohesion which published it's own findings in June 2007.
