This conference took place on the Thursday 17th June 2004 at Cabot Hall, Canary Wharf. Largely arranged at the instigation of London Probation, it looked at 'Building Trust & Confidence with London's Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) Communities'. The conference aimed to:
- Enable CJS staff and decision makers to listen to and hear the voice of grass-root ethnic minority communities to improve confidence in London's Criminal Justice System.
- Contribute towards confidence building solutions within London's Criminal Justice System.
- Raise awareness and understanding of the work being carried out by the Criminal Justice Agencies for London's communities.
On the day Baroness Scotland offered a keynote address on a national perspective on building confidence. London Action Trust were commissioned to manage the event on behalf of London Probation, with the London Criminal Justice Board also sponsoring the event.
